Federal & Military Installation Services

Working inside a fence line is a different discipline from working in a subdivision, and the difference has almost nothing to do with trees.

We are headquartered in a Navy town

Aaron’s Tree Service is based in Millington, Tennessee — the same town as Naval Support Activity Mid-South, the Navy’s Human Resources Center of Excellence. NSA Mid-South hosts Navy Personnel Command and Navy Recruiting Command, employs more than 7,500 military, civilian and contract personnel, and is one of the largest single employers in the state of Tennessee. It is about sixteen miles from downtown Memphis. Our shop is minutes from the gate.

That proximity is not a marketing coincidence. It is why installation work has been part of this company since it started, and why our crews already behave the way installation work requires — on time, credentialed, escorted where required, quiet around restricted areas, and gone when they said they would be gone.

What installation work actually demands

The trees are the easy part. What separates a contractor who can work on an installation from one who cannot:

  • Access discipline. Badging, escorts, vehicle inspection, check-in and check-out. A crew that gets turned around at a gate is a crew that costs the facility manager his morning.
  • Schedule discipline. Work windows are set by the mission, not by the contractor. If the window is 0600 to 1000, the work happens between 0600 and 1000.
  • Situational awareness. Flight lines, restricted areas, magazines, secure facilities. Knowing where not to be, and not needing to be told twice.
  • Documentation. Scope, quantities, before-and-after, and invoicing that codes cleanly through a government or prime contractor accounting system.
  • Reliability under pressure. After a storm, a blocked gate or a downed tree across an access road is an operational problem, not a landscaping one.

Services we provide to installations and federal facilities

  • Family and unaccompanied housing area tree care
  • Roadway, gate and access route clearance
  • Right-of-way and perimeter vegetation management
  • Hazard tree survey, documentation and removal
  • Crane-assisted removals near structures and infrastructure
  • Storm and disaster recovery to restore operations
  • Land clearing and site preparation
  • Tree inventories and risk documentation for facility files
  • Grounds maintenance contractor support
  • Subcontract support to facilities and recovery primes

For contracting officers and prime contractors

If you are building a bid, tell us the solicitation requirements — bonding, insurance limits, registrations, set-aside status, reporting format, response-time obligations — and you will get a straight answer about what we currently hold and what we can obtain for the project.

We would rather lose a bid honestly than win one we have to explain later. That has been the operating principle here for twenty-five years, and it is the reason this company still exists when a great many that started alongside it do not.

FAQ

Federal and Military Installations — common questions

Are you registered to do business with the federal government?

Tell us the specific requirement your solicitation carries and we will give you a straight answer on what we hold today and what we can put in place for the project. We do not claim registrations we do not have.

Can you be added as additional insured?

Yes. Send us the requirement and our carrier will issue it.

Do you travel to installations outside the Mid-South?

Yes. Installation work and storm recovery are both deployment work, and our crews travel for both.

Can you meet a specified emergency response time?

Tell us the obligation and the distance and we will tell you honestly whether we can meet it. We will not sign a response time we cannot hold.
